Ana comes back from behind

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 37 slips at the table and scores from 120 down to 55.

Ana finishes on 120 points, 44 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In the third of the closing eights, Ana bid 3 and took 6 — and Elena went down with it. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.

Luis took second with 76 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the five-card hand on the way down: Luis said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Elena. Luis was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 74 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 55 points. Before the last eights, only 4 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
