Luis takes the table

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 39 slips at the table and scores from 121 down to 57.

Luis won at a stroll, with 121 points and 49 clear of the rest. At one stretch, 11 good hands in a row.

Ionela took second with 72 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the third of the middle eights, Ionela bid 2 and took 5 — and Luis went down with it. Ionela was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Ana completed the podium with 60 points. 2 hands in a row: only Ana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ana.

The tail of the table: Mihai, with 57 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. In the second of the middle eights: Mihai called 2, took 5, and Ana was left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.
