Ioana wins the evening

One evening, 6 players, a single crown. The rest — stories to tell over coffee.

Mihai took last place without any nerves at all, on 72 points. 15 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Radu finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 5th, with 98 points. Radu was ahead of Vlad right up to the last hand. After the second of the closing eights, Radu was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Vlad in 4th, with 102 points. The comfort zone. The last hand decided it: Vlad went past Radu right on the line. In the third of the middle eights: Vlad called 0, took 5, and Mihai and Radu were left out in the cold.

Elena completed the podium with 110 points. Elena left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Ana took second with 122 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the fourth of the closing eights: Ana said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Ioana.

Ioana wins by 21 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. At one stretch, 9 good hands in a row.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
