The comeback of edge

The lead changed hands 8 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

CCC took last place without any nerves at all, on 57 points. In the last of the middle eights: CCC called 0, took 3, and Catalin was left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: only CCC slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but CCC.

PaulP finished 5th with 117 points. PaulP was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Victor Mihail in 4th, with 119 points. The comfort zone. After the two-card hand on the way up, Victor was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

unf0rgettable rounds out the podium with 128 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Level on points with Catalin, and behind only on the tie-break.

Second place for Catalin, with 128 points. So close to the top they can still taste it — bittersweet. In the first of the opening eights: Catalin said 2, scooped 5, and Victor Mihail was left counting the pieces. Catalin was ahead of edge right up to the last hand.

edge won the game with 133 points. edge only went in front at the very last hand.
