Mihai comes back from behind

9 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

First place, no appeal: Mihai, with 83 points. Mihai only went in front at the very last hand. Mihai was even last after the seven-card hand on the way down, which makes the win all the sweeter.

Ionela led for 12 hands but finished second, 5 points behind. The last hand decided it: Ionela went past Luis right on the line. 2 hands in a row: only Ionela slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ionela.

Third, and on the podium: Luis, with 76 points. In the first of the middle eights: Luis said 2, made 7, and the evening was ruined for Ana and Mihai. Luis was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand.

Ana closes out the table, with 72 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. From leader to red lantern. The little wedge tipped the big cart — and the cart was Ana. In the third of the opening eights, Ana bid 3 and took 6 — and Mihai went down with it.
