The comeback of Mihai

A game of broken contracts — 35 of them around the table, and scores from 97 all the way down to 64.

Raluca took last place without any nerves at all, on 64 points. Top of the table after the last of the opening eights, then straight to the bottom. The plan at home didn't match the one at the table.

Third, on the podium: Daniel S, up there with eyes on the top step. In the first of the opening eights: Daniel said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Elena. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Daniel didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Elena led for 15 hands but finished second, 9 points behind. In the six-card hand on the way up, Elena bid 2 and took 5 — and Raluca went down with it.

Mihai crossed the finish line first, on 97 points. Mihai was even last after the six-card hand on the way down, which makes the win all the sweeter. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.
