The comeback of Radu

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 65 points. The table was Elena's after the last of the opening eights; the second half had other ideas. In the first of the middle eights, Elena bid 0 and took 3 — and Radu went down with it.

Gigel finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 80 points. Gigel was ahead of unf0rgettable right up to the last hand. After the four-card hand on the way up, Gigel was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

unf0rgettable rounds out the podium with 86 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: unf0rgettable went past Gigel right on the line. 2 hands in a row: unf0rgettable broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Kiki finished second, just 2 points short of the win. Kiki said they'd take nothing in the second of the opening eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

2 points. That's all. Radu won in the blink of an eye — so don't blink. In the last of the opening eights: Radu said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Elena. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
