Alice comes back from behind

8 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Alice won the game with 102 points. In the last of the closing eights, Alice bid 1 and took 4 — and Luis went down with it. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.

Luis led for 13 hands but finished second, 4 points behind. At one stretch, 11 good hands in a row.

Ionela rounds out the podium with 78 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Ionela swore 0 in the five-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

The tail of the table: Mihai, with 66 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. 2 hands in a row: only Mihai slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Mihai.
