Elena never gave up the lead

Mihai took last place without any nerves at all, on 60 points. Before the last eights, only 6 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

edge rounds out the podium with 80 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the second of the opening eights, edge bid 3 and took 6 — and Mihai went down with it.

Ana took second with 88 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the first of the opening eights: Ana said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for edge. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ana didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Elena took the game with 116 points and a 28-point cushion — never really in doubt. In front from the second of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 9 good hands in a row — at one point, Elena was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
