Elena never gave up the lead

A game of broken contracts — 38 of them around the table, and scores from 112 all the way down to 48.

Last, but with style: Mihai, with 48 points. At least there were cards worth talking about. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold. After the five-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Third, on the podium: Ana, up there with eyes on the top step. On the one-card hand, Ana laid down a card and a fistful of luck. It held.

BigBarbu24 took second with 76 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the third of the opening eights: BigBarbu24 said 4, made 7, and the evening was ruined for Ana and Elena. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only BigBarbu24 didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Elena took the game with 112 points and a 36-point cushion — never really in doubt. In front from the last of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 16 good hands in a row — at one point, Elena was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
