The lead kept changing — PaulP came out on top

5 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

GeorgeS took last place without any nerves at all, on 58 points. Started like a champion — top of the table after the last of the opening eights — and finished like a tragedy. In the second of the closing eights: GeorgeS said 3, scooped 6, and PaulP was left counting the pieces.

Luis rounds out the podium with 77 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Luis swore 0 in the five-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Elena finishes second, 9 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. In the first of the closing eights, Elena bid 2 and took 5 — and GeorgeS and Luis went down with them. Elena was even in front after the three-card hand on the way down.

First place: PaulP, with 95 points. The rest, see you in the replay. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, PaulP said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
