5 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.
The tail of the table: Elena, with 71 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the two-card hand on the way up, Elena was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
Third, on the podium: Denisa, up there with eyes on the top step. Denisa was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.
Ana led for 16 hands but finished second, 20 points behind. Ana got past Denisa at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
Mihai wins by 20 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band.
