Mihai comes back from behind

The lead changed hands 5 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Mihai took the game with 120 points and a 21-point cushion — never really in doubt. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.

Kiki took second with 99 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Kiki was even in front after the two-card hand on the way up.

Third, and on the podium: Luis, with 73 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Ionela closed the table from the back, on 72 points — there is always a next game. Ionela had the table at their feet after the last of the opening eights. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever. In the third of the middle eights, Ionela bid 4 and took 7 — and Mihai went down with it.
