A tug of war, won by Ana

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Ana took the game with 125 points and a 24-point cushion — never really in doubt.

Olga took second with 101 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Olga said they'd take nothing in the six-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Third, and on the podium: Elena, with 99 points. Elena left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Mihai in 4th, with 98 points. The comfort zone. The place above was a single point away. Before the last eights, only 10 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

Cosmin took last place without any nerves at all, on 59 points. 15 broken contracts, collected like stamps.
