Mihai, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 41 slips at the table and scores from 98 down to 55.

Mihai finishes on 98 points, 22 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In front from the second of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

edge took second with 76 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the last of the opening eights: edge said 1, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Elena and Laura.

Third, and on the podium: Elena, with 61 points. In the last of the middle eights: Elena said 1, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Laura. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Elena said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Last place: Laura, with 55 points. After the two-card hand on the way up, Laura was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
