The comeback of Elena

The lead passed from hand to hand, 6 times over — it was anyone's guess.

In 5th place, Roua, on 100 points. After the four-card hand on the way up, Roua was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. Roua cried laughing 3 times 😂 — a fun evening, at least on one side of the table.

Neither at the front nor at the back: GIBO in 4th, with 110 points. The comfort zone. GIBO swore 0 in the fifth of the opening eights and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Third, on the podium: Catalin, up there with eyes on the top step. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Catalin didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Payet led for 11 hands but finished second, 9 points behind. In the last of the closing eights, Payet bid 1 and took 5 — and Catalin went down with it. Payet was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand.

Elena takes the game with 136 points and goes home happy. Elena only went in front at the very last hand. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
