The comeback of edge

The lead passed from hand to hand, 11 times over — it was anyone's guess.

The tail of the table: unf0rgettable, with 61 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. unf0rgettable had the table at their feet after the five-card hand on the way down. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever. In the second of the closing eights: unf0rgettable called 1, took 5, and Vyce was left out in the cold.

Third, on the podium: Kiki, up there with eyes on the top step. In the second of the opening eights: Kiki said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for unf0rgettable. Kiki was ahead of Vyce right up to the last hand. The last of the middle eights: 3 chairs thrown at Kiki in seconds 🪑 — the table spoke its mind, furnished and all.

Vyce took the runner-up spot with 67 points. The last hand decided it: Vyce went past Kiki right on the line. 2 hands in a row: Vyce broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

First place, no appeal: edge, with 85 points. 2 hands in a row: edge broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Going into the last hand the lead was already 26 — that one was a lap of honour.

Well played everyone — and especially edge!
