edge, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 44 slips at the table and scores from 123 down to 27.

edge won at a stroll, with 123 points and 52 clear of the rest. In the third of the middle eights: edge said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Ana and Cristian Imparat. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Elena took second with 71 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Elena left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Ana rounds out the podium with 47 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Ana left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Cristian Imparat took last place without any nerves at all, on 27 points. In the third of the closing eights: Cristian said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Ana. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Cristian said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
