Nico wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 37 of them around the table, and scores from 103 all the way down to 64.

Last place, with dignity: Ana, with 64 points. Somebody had to do it. Started like a champion — top of the table after the two-card hand on the way down — and finished like a tragedy. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ana didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Third, and on the podium: Mihai, with 76 points. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Elena took second with 80 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the last of the middle eights: Elena called 1, took 4, and Ana was left out in the cold. Elena spent a long time on the red lantern and came out clean — determined not to buy the round.

Nico finishes on 103 points, 23 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In the third of the opening eights: Nico called 2, took 5, and Elena and Mihai were left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: only Nico slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Nico.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
