Elena, from start to finish

Another evening at the green baize, and it had a bit of everything.

Elena wins by 34 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. In front from the third of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Daniela took second with 92 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the second of the opening eights: Daniela called 1, took 5, and edge was left out in the cold. 9 good hands in a row — at one point, Daniela was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Mihai completed the podium with 69 points. 11 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Last place, with dignity: edge, with 67 points. Somebody had to do it. In the second of the middle eights: edge said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Mihai. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, edge said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
