The comeback of Luis

7 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Gigel took last place without any nerves at all, on 54 points. In the third of the closing eights: Gigel said 1, scooped 4, and Elena was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Gigel said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Third, and on the podium: Mihai, with 82 points. Mihai was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand.

Elena took second with 83 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Elena went past Mihai right on the line. Elena was even in front after the three-card hand on the way down.

Luis finishes on 108 points, 25 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In the third of the opening eights: Luis called 3, took 7, and Elena and Gigel were left out in the cold. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
