The lead kept changing — Ana came out on top

4 players · 28 September 2026

4 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Elena closes out the table, with 60 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. In the first of the closing eights: Elena called 1, took 4, and Ana was left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

Third, and on the podium: Mihai, with 74 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold. Mihai was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Luis took second with 76 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Luis swore 0 in the third of the opening eights and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Ana wins by 26 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. At one stretch, 7 good hands in a row.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
