Vyce comes back from behind

4 players · 26 October 2026

4 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Vyce crossed the finish line first, on 100 points. Vyce was even last after the third of the middle eights, which makes the win all the sweeter. At one stretch, 11 good hands in a row.

Luis led for 12 hands but finished second, 7 points behind. Luis said they'd take nothing in the last of the closing eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Ionela rounds out the podium with 79 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the last of the opening eights: Ionela called 0, took 6, and Vyce was left out in the cold.

Adell closes out the table, with 65 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. Adell had the table at their feet after the four-card hand on the way down. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever. In the second of the opening eights, Adell bid 3 and took 6 — and Luis went down with it.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
