Luis comes back from behind

Luis won at a stroll, with 107 points and 20 clear of the rest.

Mihai took second with 87 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Mihai was even in front after the first of the closing eights.

Ionela completed the podium with 86 points. The last hand decided it: Ionela went past Ana right on the line. The place above was a single point away.

The tail of the table: Ana, with 79 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. The table was Ana's after the six-card hand on the way down; the second half had other ideas. In the last of the closing eights, Ana bid 1 and took 4 — and Mihai went down with it.
