Mihai, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 38 slips at the table and scores from 111 down to 58.

Mihai finishes on 111 points, 30 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In front from the last of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 7 good hands in a row — at one point, Mihai was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Ana took second with 81 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: Ana broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Third, and on the podium: Iuly, with 67 points. Iuly said they'd take nothing in the four-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

The tail of the table: Ionela, with 58 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. 2 hands in a row: Ionela broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the two-card hand on the way up, Ionela was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
