Ganó Mara

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 51 slips at the table and scores from 128 down to 62.

Mara wins by 30 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Cristi took second with 98 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Cristi left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Third, and on the podium: Scorpio04, with 86 points. Scorpio04 got past Cretu at the very last hand. In the third of the opening eights: Scorpio04 said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Cristi and Mara.

Cretu finished 4th with 84 points. Cretu was ahead of Scorpio04 right up to the last hand. After the two-card hand on the way up, Cretu was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Lia took last place without any nerves at all, on 62 points. Lia had the table at their feet after the last of the opening eights. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever.
