Coca, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 40 slips at the table and scores from 106 down to 61.

Coca took the game with 106 points and a 33-point cushion — never really in doubt. In front from the third of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Vyce took second with 73 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Vyce got past crista at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Vyce didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

crista completed the podium with 73 points. Level on points with Vyce, and behind only on the tie-break. crista was ahead of Vyce right up to the last hand.

Last, but with style: Elena, with 61 points. At least there were cards worth talking about. In the last of the closing eights: Elena said 0, scooped 3, and crista was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Well played everyone — and especially Coca!
