Ilinca comes back from behind

The lead changed hands 5 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Ilinca won by a whisker, with just 2 points — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 18 good hands in a row — at one point, Ilinca was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Pity led for 17 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. Pity swore 0 in the last of the middle eights and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Third, on the podium: Cosmin, up there with eyes on the top step. Cosmin was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Mara finished 4th with 88 points. Mara got past Vyce at the very last hand.

Last place: Vyce, with 83 points. Vyce was ahead of Mara right up to the last hand.
