Elena wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 36 of them around the table, and scores from 99 all the way down to 50.

Ana took last place without any nerves at all, on 50 points. In the second of the opening eights: Ana said 3, scooped 6, and edge was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

edge completed the podium with 65 points. edge swore 0 in the two-card hand on the way up and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Mihai finished second, just 3 points short of the win. 3 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity. Mihai was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Elena won with 99 points, by a whisker: just 3 points ahead. In the last of the closing eights, Elena bid 2 and took 5 — and Ana went down with it. 9 good hands in a row — at one point, Elena was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
