The comeback of Cretu

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Last place, with dignity: crista, with 77 points. Somebody had to do it. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, crista said and... hoped. It didn't hold. Before the last eights, only 8 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

Daniela finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 80 points. In the first of the middle eights: Daniela said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Alice.

Third, and on the podium: Petru, with 112 points. Petru was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Alice led for 12 hands but finished second, 6 points behind. Alice said they'd take nothing in the six-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Cretu won the game with 126 points. In the fourth of the opening eights, Cretu bid 3 and took 6 — and Alice went down with it. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
