The comeback of Cretu

The lead passed from hand to hand, 6 times over — it was anyone's guess.

The tail of the table: Bot, with 57 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. Bot was ahead of Bot right up to the last hand. After the two-card hand on the way up, Bot was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Bot rounds out the podium with 59 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Bot went past Bot right on the line.

Elena led for 16 hands but finished second, 1 point behind. The place above was a single point away. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Cretu won with 91 points, by a whisker: just 1 point ahead. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 6 good hands in a row — at one point, Cretu was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
