The comeback of Luis

The lead passed from hand to hand, 11 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Last place, with dignity: Kiki, with 45 points. Somebody had to do it. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Kiki didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Third, and on the podium: Ionela, with 55 points. In the first of the closing eights: Ionela said 0, scooped 3, and Luis and Mihai were left counting the pieces. Ionela was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Runner-up sounds good — gold sounded better. Mihai, with 68 points. Mihai was even in front after the third of the middle eights. At one stretch, 7 good hands in a row.

Luis won the game with 78 points. In the second of the closing eights: Luis called 3, took 6, and Ionela and Mihai were left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: only Luis slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Luis.
