Mihai wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 34 of them around the table, and scores from 115 all the way down to 80.

The tail of the table: Sebi, with 80 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. 3 hands in a row: only Sebi slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Sebi. Before the last eights, only 9 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

Elena rounds out the podium with 83 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Elena was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Ana took second with 86 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ana got past Elena at the very last hand.

Mihai wins by 29 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity.
