A tug of war, won by Sebi

The lead passed from hand to hand, 9 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Sebi won by a whisker, with just 3 points — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. In the first of the closing eights: Sebi said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Elena.

Mihai finished second, just 3 points short of the win. The last hand decided it: Mihai went past Ana right on the line. Mihai spent a good while in last place and climbed out of it.

Ana rounds out the podium with 89 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. 3 hands in a row: Ana broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Ana was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 73 points. Started like a champion — top of the table after the five-card hand on the way down — and finished like a tragedy. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Elena said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
