Elena comes back from behind

The cards were dealt, and so were the nerves. Here is the story.

Elena crossed the finish line first, on 138 points.

Mara led for 17 hands but finished second, 16 points behind. At one stretch, 13 good hands in a row. Mara sat thinking 3 times 🤔 — about what, nobody knows.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 112 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Ana in 4th, with 102 points. The comfort zone. Before the last eights, only 3 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

Luis finished 5th with 100 points. In the fourth of the closing eights: Luis said 1, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Ana and PaulP. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

PaulP took last place without any nerves at all, on 66 points. 15 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Well played everyone — and especially Elena!
