The comeback of Mihai

The lead changed hands 5 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Luis took last place without any nerves at all, on 71 points. From leader to red lantern. The little wedge tipped the big cart — and the cart was Luis. In the last of the closing eights: Luis called 0, took 4, and Ana was left out in the cold.

Third, and on the podium: Ionela, with 88 points. The place above was a single point away. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ionela said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Ana finished second, just 1 point short of the win. Ana was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ana didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Mihai won by a whisker, with just 1 point — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. Mihai only went in front at the very last hand. In the third of the closing eights: Mihai said 0, scooped 4, and Luis was left counting the pieces.
