Ana comes back from behind

Ana won with 99 points, by a whisker: just 3 points ahead. Ana only went in front at the very last hand.

Ionela led for 14 hands but finished second, 3 points behind. Ionela was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: only Ionela slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ionela.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 80 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Mihai was even in front after the first of the middle eights. 8 good hands in a row — at one point, Mihai was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Last place, with dignity: Luis, with 66 points. Somebody had to do it. In the third of the closing eights: Luis said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Mihai. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
