Ioana comes back from behind

7 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Ioana finished level and took the win on the tie-break: fewer broken contracts. Whist rewards the player who keeps their word. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 13 good hands in a row — at one point, Ioana was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Mihai finished second, just 0 points short of the win. Level on points with Ioana, and behind only on the tie-break. Mihai was ahead of Ioana right up to the last hand.

Radu rounds out the podium with 117 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: Radu plays right down to the last card.

Emi finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 97 points. Emi got past Elena at the very last hand. Emi was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

In 5th place, Ana, on 96 points. The last hand decided it: Ana went past Elena right on the line. In the fifth of the opening eights: Ana called 1, took 5, and 3 others were left out in the cold.

Last place, with dignity: Elena, with 93 points. Somebody had to do it. Elena was ahead of Emi right up to the last hand.
