The comeback of Alina

A game of broken contracts — 50 of them around the table, and scores from 125 all the way down to 68.

Last place: Mihai, with 68 points. 13 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Kiki finished 4th with 72 points. Kiki was ahead of Luis right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Kiki didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Luis completed the podium with 78 points. The last hand decided it: Luis went past Kiki right on the line. In the fourth of the opening eights: Luis called 1, took 4, and Alice was left out in the cold. Luis cried laughing 4 times 😂 — a fun evening, at least on one side of the table.

Alice took second with 95 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Alice said they'd take nothing in the three-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Alina took the game with 125 points and a 30-point cushion — never really in doubt.

Well played everyone — and especially Alina!
