Elena takes the table

Another evening at the green baize, and it had a bit of everything.

First place: Elena, with 117 points. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Runner-up sounds good — gold sounded better. Ionela, with 106 points. Ionela swore 0 in the four-card hand on the way up and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Radu rounds out the podium with 103 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Radu went past Nico right on the line. 2 hands in a row: Radu broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Nico finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 101 points. In the first of the opening eights: Nico said 1, scooped 4, and Sebi was left counting the pieces. Nico was ahead of Radu right up to the last hand.

Sebi took last place without any nerves at all, on 76 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Sebi said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
