The comeback of Luis

Third, and on the podium: Mihai, with 80 points. Mihai was ahead of Luis right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Elena led for 15 hands but finished second, 0 points behind. The last hand decided it: Elena went past Mihai right on the line. Level on points with Luis, and behind only on the tie-break.

Luis finished level and took the win on the tie-break: fewer broken contracts. Whist rewards the player who keeps their word. In the second of the closing eights: Luis called 0, took 5, and Daniel S and Mihai were left out in the cold.
