The cards are back in the box. Here is what happened at the table.

Elena closes out the table, with 70 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the two-card hand on the way up, Elena was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Third, and on the podium: Kiki, with 80 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Kiki said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Ana took second with 87 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the seven-card hand on the way down: Ana said 2, scooped 5, and Kiki was left counting the pieces.

Mihai wins by 31 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. At one stretch, 12 good hands in a row.
