Adrian, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 63 slips at the table and scores from 140 down to 74.

Adrian Gh took the game with 140 points and a 36-point cushion — never really in doubt. In front from the second of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 11 good hands in a row — at one point, Adrian was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Catalin took second with 104 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the last of the opening eights: Catalin called 0, took 4, and Roua was left out in the cold. Catalin spent a good while in last place and climbed out of it. In the first of the middle eights, 2 chairs flew at Catalin within seconds 🪑 — the table had opinions.

Third, on the podium: GIBO, up there with eyes on the top step. The place above was a single point away.

Roua finished 4th with 91 points. In the third of the middle eights: Roua said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Adrian Gh and Carmen.

In 5th place, Daniela, on 84 points. After the two-card hand on the way up, Daniela was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Carmen closes out the table, with 74 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. 15 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
