The comeback of Elena

The lead changed hands 7 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Last place, with dignity: Ioana, with 77 points. Somebody had to do it. Started like a champion — top of the table after the last of the opening eights — and finished like a tragedy. Ioana was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand.

Third, on the podium: Ana, up there with eyes on the top step. Ana got past Ioana at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ana didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Luis led for 10 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. In the second of the closing eights: Luis called 1, took 4, and Ana was left out in the cold. 9 good hands in a row — at one point, Luis was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Elena won by a whisker, with just 2 points — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. Elena only went in front at the very last hand.
