Luis takes the table

4 players · 6 October 2026

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 35 slips at the table and scores from 111 down to 60.

Luis wins by 20 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Luis didn't — but insisted, with dignity. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.

Ana took second with 91 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ana was even in front after the second of the middle eights.

Third, and on the podium: Elena, with 73 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Elena said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Mihai closes out the table, with 60 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. 2 hands in a row: only Mihai slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Mihai.

Well played everyone — and especially Luis!
