A tug of war, won by Mihai

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Mihai took the game with 111 points and a 27-point cushion — never really in doubt. 10 good hands in a row — at one point, Mihai was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Elena led for 10 hands but finished second, 27 points behind. Elena left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Third, on the podium: edge, up there with eyes on the top step. edge got past Ana at the very last hand. 3 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only edge didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Ana closed the table from the back, on 79 points — there is always a next game. In the third of the opening eights, Ana bid 2 and took 5 — and edge went down with it. Ana was ahead of edge right up to the last hand.
