Elena never gave up the lead

A game of broken contracts — 34 of them around the table, and scores from 112 all the way down to 50.

Ana took last place without any nerves at all, on 50 points. In the first of the opening eights: Ana said 0, scooped 4, and PaulP was left counting the pieces.

Third, and on the podium: PaulP, with 81 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, PaulP said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Mihai took second with 84 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. One card, a single card, and Mihai still got it wrong on the one-card hand. It happens even in the best houses.

Elena finishes on 112 points, 28 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 7 good hands in a row — at one point, Elena was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
