Elena, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 70 slips at the table and scores from 142 down to 48.

Elena wins by 36 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 9 good hands in a row.

Mihai took second with 106 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server. In the four-card hand on the way up, 2 chairs flew at Mihai within seconds 🪑 — the table had opinions.

Third, on the podium: CCC, up there with eyes on the top step. CCC said they'd take nothing in the first of the middle eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite. CCC cried laughing 13 times 😂 — the cheapest entertainment at the table.

Roua finished 4th with 77 points. Roua got past Adrian Gh at the very last hand. In the last of the opening eights: Roua said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Adrian Gh and HelenC.

In 5th place, Adrian Gh, on 71 points. In the third of the closing eights: Adrian called 1, took 6, and CCC and Roua were left out in the cold. Adrian was ahead of Roua right up to the last hand.

HelenC took last place without any nerves at all, on 48 points. 18 broken contracts, collected like stamps.
