The comeback of Luis

The lead changed hands 6 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Last place, with dignity: Ana, with 81 points. Somebody had to do it. Ana was ahead of Ionela right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ana didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Third, and on the podium: Ionela, with 84 points. Ionela got past Ana at the very last hand. In the third of the closing eights: Ionela said 0, scooped 4, and Mihai was left counting the pieces.

Mihai led for 16 hands but finished second, 1 point behind. The place above was a single point away.

Luis won by a whisker, with just 1 point — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
