Alina never gave up the lead

The cards are back in the box. Here is what happened at the table.

Pity finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 101 points. Pity got past Cretu at the very last hand. In the fourth of the middle eights: Pity said 2, scooped 6, and Alina and Cretu were left counting the pieces. Vlad took second with 112 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Vlad swore 0 in the first of the middle eights and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour. Alina finishes on 148 points, 36 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In front from the second of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 15 good hands in a row — at one point, Alina was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
